Random Thoughts...

well, I haven’t been blogging for quite a while. But I’m sure you didn’t miss me :)
There have been some thoughts that I had in mind all through this past month or so and just got the time to jot them down.
Hope I don’t bore you :)

Doctors and hospitals in the U.S.
Based on personal experience and other family and friends’ experiences , it seems to me that doctors here go through medical school and come out of it not knowing much. They try to figure out what you have based on the symptoms you tell them and only the symptoms! They don’t think or try and take all the medical tests possible to accurately recognize what you have; rather they look it up from medical books or a medical database. So if you’re not really precise and accurate about what you say. They might give you the wrong medication (this happened in many cases), which leads to even more complications and problems.
Besides, it’s all a rip off. Even after insurance covers most of it.
(What I am saying doesn’t go for every single doctor in here; I am just talking about a majority).

Life and death:
About a week or so ago, a friend of mine. a 27-28 yr old guy, CPA and PHD passed away. He was perfectly healthy and in the best shape of his life. While on a plane to Egypt to surprise his mom who hadn’t seen him for I don’t know how long, he got a sudden heart attack and passed away -on the plane-. What a surprise to mom, huh?
After I heard the news all I could think about is why him, such a young, polite and accomplished guy, who worked so hard to get to where he was, and was just about to start his life.
Then I started thinking: why do we work so hard to accomplish a lot on earth, Where in one second, one could just disappear and it would all be worth nothing. What’s life worth? And why are we living?

Celebrations and holidays:
4th of July was just a couple of days ago. My family and I all got together since it’s a day off for everybody. But because we’ve been living here for so long, we got accustomed to the “celebrating traditions”
In every get together there has to be food and lots of it (even at a funeral service). Without food it won’t be an occasion to celebrate. And after we eat we just sit around and talk till its time to go home…
How are we celebrating the occasion if the hosting family is busy making the food and serving it, while the other members try to help and then sit around and talk till food is ready? If you think about it, while its nice to spend some time with the whole family every now and then, it can get really overwhelming for the hosting members preparing the food and making sure everybody is satisfied, and if there are kids, that’s even more work :) and at the end the family doesn’t get to spend quality time together as was intended..

Well, I think I’ll end it here since i babbled on too much :)
Ciao.

Ya you're right, doctors suck, life is pretty much meaningless when you think about it and family gatherings are so much gatherings as they are stress inducer.

Life's a funny thing the whole point of living (depending on your religious beliefs) is to make a better life for after you die, so in theory wouldn't it just be better not to live at all? This is just one of those questions that you can't answer it's way too deep and way bigger than anything we can ever comprehend. As for our friend over there, I believe this is what he wanted, he went back to school because he couldn't bear not studying, he loved to study and read and learn, so I HONESTLY think he would have hated his life after school and thats why the good lord took him.

As for the celebration thing...if you don't make food nobody will come :)
